Por fin Belle and Sebastian.

Todo este año estuve buscando las fechas de su tour para poder finalmente verlos, sí ya sé que soy una friki. Estuve ocupada buscando lugares no tan caros para poder hacerlo, se me escapó Santander y dudé con ir a UK. Pero sorpresa de las sorpresas vinieron a Barcelona en una actuación gratis para el BAM!!!

Llegué desde la actuación del grupo anterior, Ok Go. Una buena banda con el entusiasmo de Ferris Buller, se le agradece bastante al vocalista sus ganas de interactuar con el público y su esfuerzo por hacer un concierto lleno de sorpresas.

La hora se acercaba y logré colarme a la primera fila, aunque el cámara me tapaba la mayoría de Stuart Murdoch fui muy feliz aún así. Me deleité con las canciones bueneras de los primeros discos, un rico twee pop (no declarado). La historias de las canciones son excepcionales y especialmente dulces. Personajes que me gustaría conocer y tener como amigos, tal vez complejos pero con un acento único. 

Al comienzo me angustié un poco cuando Murdoch olvidó la letra de I'm a cuckoo y alguna de las guitarras sonaba desfinada. Tal vez no imaginaron su poder de convocatoria, las calles estaba abarrotadas y el público les pedía que los llevara al sueño de Belle and Sebastian, puff! eso puede poner nervioso a cualquiera. Ya a lo largo del concierto, las notas sonaron y todo fluyó con su melodía con canciones como Get me away from here am dying o Like Dylan in the movies que enamoraron a los fans antiguos.

Excelente concierto, aunque siento que me faltó algo que no pudieron dar, algo que sentí con Goldfrapp como su profesionalismo y lo pulcro de su ejecución. Belle and Sebastian quizá no estaba preparado para un público tan grande o un espectáculo que por años había creado expectativa. Más bien parecía que por fin se habían reunido para tocar en un encuentro casual, lo cual no deja de ser romántico.

Me encanta la base de bajo de pop retro, me gustan sus letras, me gusta Belle and Sebastian y espero que no pase tanto tiempo para poder verlo otra vez en vivo.

Finally Belle and Sebastian.

This year I was looking for forward to find tickets to see them live yes I know I’m a freaky. I was really busy looking for less expensive places to go see them, I lost Santander and I hesitated to go to UK. But surprise of surprises they came to Barcelona for free for the BAM Festival!  

I arrived since the performance of the previous group, Ok Go. A good band with the enthusiasm of Ferris Buller, I’m grateful with the vocalist with his desire to interact with the public and his effort to do a concert full of surprises.

Time was approaching and I managed to get into the first row, although the camera man covered me most of Stuart Murdoch I was still very happy. I enjoyed the good songs of the early disks, a delightful (undeclared) twee pop. The stories of the lyrics are exceptional and especially sweet. Characters that I would like to know and have as friends, maybe complex but with a unique accent.

At the beginning I kind of panic when Murdoch forgot the lyrics of I'm cuckoo and some guitar was out of tune. Perhaps they didn’t imagine the power of their call, the streets was overcrowded and the public asked to carry them into the Belle and Sebastian’s dream, puff!! that can put nervous to anyone. Then during the concert, notes sounded and everything flowed with their melody in songs like Get me away from here I’m dying or Like Dylan in the movies which o win the heart of the old fans. 

Excellent concert, although I felt that I missed something that they couldn’t give, something I felt with Goldfrapp as their professionalism and the cleanliness of their performance. Perhaps, Belle and Sebastian was unprepared for such large audiences or a spectacle which for years had created great expectation. It rather seemed that they finally get together to play in a casual encounter, which is still romantic.

 I love their pop retro bass base, I like the lyrics, I like Belle and Sebastian and I hope not to wait so long to see them live again.

I'm in love with a strict machine

Soy una melómana declarada y Goldfrapp siempre ha estado en mi top 10 de bandas favoritas, cuando me enteré que vendrían para el Festival BAM gratis flipé un montón. Son una banda llena de energía,  Alison Goldfrapp se deshace en el escenario, grita, baila, envidio sus chales luminosos ¡Los quiero!

Anoche hubo mucho electro pop, new wave, estuvo genial. Como pasa en los concierto de las grandes bandas, la música flotaba desde el escenario y tu te disolvías entre la multitud en una experiencia estética en masa. La melodía te superaba en uno de esos momento de claridad en que te sientes conciente de que estás ahí y formas parte de un grupo afortunado. Soy de esas fans silenciosas que prefiere perderse entre la muchedumbre y observar cómo tocan, me enamoré de su performance y de su limpieza al ejecturar las canciones, se nota que tienen mucha experiencia y trabajo puesto en la banda. Lamentablemente, el audio de los videos que grabé falla, narf! 

Lo que me faltó fue alguna canción del albúm Felt Mountain, mi preferido de la banda y único en su estilo con una profundidad increíble en la música y las letras, extrañé canciones como Deer Stop o Horse Tears, aún así dieron un gran espectáculo y fui feliz.

Después ahí mismo una gran fiesta de dj's, el sueño de todo fiestero,  en un exquisito escenario industrial que de fondo usaba las luces que venían de la feria ¡uff!

Hoy Belle and Sebastian en la Antigua Fábrica Damm ¡no puedo esperar! 

I am a declared music lover and Goldfrapp has always been in my top 10 of favorite bands, when I heard that they were coming for free to the BAM Festival it excited me a lot. They are a band full of energy, Alison Goldfrapp is amazing on stage and what to say about her beautiful bright shawls.

Last night there was a lot of electro pop, new wave really great. As happens in the concerts of great bands, music floats from the stage and you're dissolving yourself in the crowd in a mass aesthetic experience. The melody exceed you in one of those moments of clarity in which you're aware of yourself as a part of a fortunate group. I am of those quiet fans who prefer to get lost in the multitude and see how the band plays, I loved their very clean performance, they showed their very experience and work put into the band. Unfortunately, the audio of the videos I recorded fails, narf!

What I missed was a song from the album Felt Mountain, my favorite one and unique in its style, with incredible depth in the music and lyrics. I missed songs like Deer Stop  or Horse Tears, they still gave a great show and I was happy.

After the concert, right there a big dj's party, the dream of every party animal in an exquisite industrial set with background lights coming from the fair. Things are happening! And today Belle and Sebastian in the Old Factory Damm. I can't wait!
